Early gameplay gif and some updates
After taking some days away from my day job, I decided to get my head down and do some more work on coding the game, and importing some key features into the game that I had built separate.
One of these key features of the game is the ‘englishified’ nature of the ratings for each player, and their various underlying skills. I show player ratings by way of snippets of newspaper stories about each player, which you can see on this screen:
While each player will have a full, English bio, lots can be gained from newspaper stories - if you read between the lines.
Another cool, but simple feature, is the addition of the ‘day proceed’ button, which is the way that you progress through a game week. You can see on the image below that the ‘pick team’ button is grayed out. This is because you can only pick your team on a Friday or Saturday - on which the pick team button turns blue.
and here is a brief gif image of the game in action, so you can see what it looks like at the moment (and in the future, you can say, “wow, look what this game started out as, it’s come so far!”)
As you can see, it is still very early days, but each day I am chipping away at it, and following some advice from an indie game YouTuber, I am making sure that I have no ‘zero days’, and every day something is pushing the game forward.
Concurrently, I am also having various animations for the game made, and will be sorting out a trailer very soon!
